Guruvarya R.V.Patankar Sarvodaya Vidya Mandir Secondary & Higher Secondary School, Rajur
गुरुवर्य रा.वि. पाटणकर सर्वोदय विद्या मंदिर माध्यमिक व उच्च माध्यमिक विद्यालय, राजूर.
“Celebrating 60 years of Successful Education…”
Established in 1958, This is one of the oldest High School in Ahmednagar District. The school was established by great Gandhian followers and social activists Late R.V. Patankar, Bapusaheb Shende and Savitribai Madan. The school was popularly known as ‘Sarvodaya Vidya Mandir’. To commemorate the sacrifice and dedicated social work of Late R.V. Ptankar, the school is renamed as ‘Guruvarya R.V. Patankar Sarvodaya Vidya Mandir Sec. & High Sec. School’. With the objectives of upliftment, emancipation and education of tribal community, R.V. Patankar really sacrificed his whole life for this humanitarian cause with great determination and courage. Started with just 50 students, today the school has about 1880 students studying in the classes from 5th to 12th and has become fastest growing and reputed school in the tribal region of Akole.
The School, besides academic excellence and intellectual development of the children, endeavors to help them discover their innate talents and abilities. The school has an adequate facility for various games and they are equally emphasized. As a matter of fact, these activities form an integral part of the school curriculum. Every year the school organizes Gandhi Research Foundation’s ‘Gandhi Vichar Sanskar Pariksha’, an exam to test the knowledge and awareness about Gandhian thought and legacy among students. The Foundation provides subsidized course material to secondary and higher secondary schools and universities for studies, based on which exams are conducted. The objective of this examination is to familiarize school and college students with Gandhian thoughts. With fully-equipped two computer labs and some digital classrooms, the school focuses on computer education. The teachers work hard with the students to sharpen their skills. To inculcate the scientific approach among students, the school installed special and well-equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories. The school is also known for its ideal NCC and Scout units. The entire school campus is under complete surveillance with 30 CCTV cameras installed at various locations.
Principal’s Desk
“Education in the understanding of citizenship is a short-term affair if we are honest and earnest. Basic education links the children, whether of cities or the villages, to all that is best and lasting in India…”
The prime aim of education is the study of the human mind, infant, adolescent, and adult. Economic, social and cultural development of any country depends on Education. Education is a fundamental human right, essential for the empowerment and development of an individual and the society as a whole. The Right to Education Act (RTE), is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted on 4 August 2009, which describes the modalities of the importance of Free and Compulsory Education for children between 6 and 14. We are very fortunate to head this prestigious school of Satyaniketan, the institution known for tribal education and tribal empowerment. It gives us immense pleasure and joy that we have become a part of this glorious 70 years old Satyaniketan which was founded by Late R.V.Patankar, Late Bapusaheb Shende, and Late Savitribai Madan. We feel extremely lucky as well as proud to be the successor of so many eminent personalities who served this school as head of the school and teachers, who were mentors rather than teachers, since 1958. We thank all the members of Satyaniketan for the honor bestowed upon us with their warm welcome and support. Only with the great support of the President of Satyaniketan Hon. Adv. M.N. Deshmukh and the Secretary of Satyaniketan Hon. T.N. Kanawade, we have been working successfully as the Principal and Vice-Principal.
Progress is our motto. We need to grow and progress every day, every week, every month and every year. Our vision is to produce conscientious, smart and confident citizens of India who will go out into the world and make us proud. We need quality of the institution, quality of an individual and quality of life as a whole. The sky is our limit. We shall keep the lamp of knowledge burning to achieve the vision. Let us rise higher and higher…!
– Shri. M.D.Lende, Principal.
– Shri. L.P.Parbat, Vice-Principal (Jr. College).
